About

My work explores the relationship between body and spirit, where they intertwine and diverge. We all have a body, and we use it to understand the world around us. And yet, the container of our body does just that, contain: our senses employ a specific range of sensitivity to detect colors and sounds, which, as human beings, narrows our ways of knowing. Beyond the corporeal edge lies the realm of belief, of spirit; my work inhabits the space between belief and knowing. In that space, a violinist bows the sea, a dancer echoes folded layers of rock, and the ocean reveals its inherent music.
